This little hero deserves a medal. There aren't many adults who would risk life and limb by running into a burning building, but he did it without a second thought. While his act was one of pure bravery, it's never advised to enter into a building that's on fire for anything. Because children are more likely to go back and try to save a favorite toy or stuffed animal, it's crucial for kids to understand. They also need to know what to do if they do find themselves trapped by flames. If fire or smoke is blocking the escape route, yell for help (from an open window, if there's one nearby) or call 911, if a phone is available. Never hide in the closet or under the bed, as fire fighters will not be able to find those who are hiding easily.
