Fall is here again, bringing with it that slight chill in the air, pumpkin spice everything, and, of course, who could forget all the beautiful colors of the changing leaves? This happens because chlorophyll, the green pigment in plants that aids in the production of energy via photosynthesis, starts to break down in the fall due to the colder weather coming in. As it degenerates, the other, less dominant colors of the leaves are revealed.
While the gradual transition from summer green to autumn reds/yellows, and oranges has its own charm, seeing a side-by-side comparison of a location in summer vs. fall is stunning.
