It's great to see inspired teens. The brightest youth are ones involved in their schools, families, communities and places of worship. They value the hard work and achievements that help them become good citizens later in life. Then there are some who take their level of civic involvement to a whole new level.

Like Katie Stagliano, for example. The spirited 14-year-old developed a penchant for gardening after harvesting a giant 40-pound cabbage. This early green thumb grew into a new mission, starting with a single soup kitchen, to full-on enterprise. Her dream came from realizing how families in need could be, "just like my family. For all I know they could be my family who've fallen on hard times."
