3D Projector Turns Nature Into A Glowing Wonderland

Jan 12, 2015
Projection mapping initially debuted in 1969 when Disneyland opened the Haunted Mansion ride. Since then, artists have continually taken video mapping to the next level and this short film is no exception. Photographer Tarek Mawad and animator Fredrick van Schoor spent six weeks in the forest in awe of the silence and grandeur.

Both artists are in awe of bioluminescence, which is the ability of a living animal to produce and emit light. They personified the forest, making the mushrooms, animals, and other living organisms glow with a bioluminescent-like light. You can see behind-the-scenes and observe how all enhancements were done live with no effects being added during post production.
