Jedidiah Jenkins has certainly chosen the road less traveled. His message of getting out of your routine is one that everybody should heed. While he is certainly an adventurer himself, his desire for exploration is probably due at least in part to his father.

Peter Jenkins (Jedidiah's dad) begin a similar journey of his own in the 1970s. Beginning in Alfred, NY (where he had recently graduated from Alfred University with a BFA in Sculpture and Ceramics), Jenkins began to traverse the country on foot, finishing in Oregon in 1979. The epic walk was described in his book "A Walk Across America." Since then, Jenkins has completed several other impressive journeys and nine other works, detailing trips to Alaska, China and beyond.
