They say that laughter is the best medicine, and just about all doctors will agree that a positive environment makes a world of difference in how well a patient heals. While hospitals are stressful enough as an adult, they are even worse for children, since they don't always fully understand what's happening to them. That's why finding ways to make children feel more at ease is so important, and at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Southern Florida, they've done just that.

Although incoming parents are initially perplexed by the staff's colorful skirts, they're quick to get on board once they see the kind of smile it brings to their kids. It just goes to show that sometimes the simplest things can bring the most joy.
