This element is considered to be three or four times more abundant than uranium (another radioactive element) and is predicted to someday be the most used element in nuclear reactors. Long term, thorium has a much shorter length of toxicity than uranium. Although there are not many nuclear facilities currently using thorium, it is hoped that in the future this will change.
Tired of hearing over and over that the world needs to do something about global warming? Well, apparently, there seems to be an easily available answer called thorium. Thorium is a chemical element and is one of the three (natural) elements that are radioactive, although its radioactivity is considered to be quite weak.
