A Man Takes One Selfie For Every Mile He Hikes... For Over 2,600 Miles

Apr 3, 2015
Between 2013 and 2014, filmmaker Andy Davidhazy spent five months hiking the entire length of the Pacific Crest Trail. The journey was roughly 2,600 miles, going all the way from the Mexican border town of Campo, California to just inside the Canadian border at Manning Park, British Columbia. He took selfies at every single mile.

Davidhazy says that he took up the challenge because it was the hardest thing he could think of and he knew there could be no shortcuts - either he hiked the entire Pacific Crest Trail, or he didn't. Over the course of his several months on the trail, he lost around 50 pounds. He also says that he eventually developed a very accurate internal clock for measuring each mile, around 18-22 minutes for each mile.
