A Rescued Pit Bull Is Ellen's Best Guest Ever

There are some things that just go together. Peanut butter & jelly. Rock & roll. Baseball & sunflower seeds. And now ... Pit Bulls & Parolees. The hugely successful television program, which follows Tia Torres as she runs Villalobos Rescue Center, takes two groups that society tends to label as dangerous and places them together with surprising results. Here at Wimp, we absolutely love pit bulls, and will be the first to tell you that no breed is inherently mean or aggressive. Pit bulls have gotten a bad rap due to a long history of cruel humans breeding them for bloodsport, but when these dogs are given a chance to be themselves, they never cease to surprise us with their loveable personalities.

In a way, Pit Bull & Parolees gives both dogs and humans a chance to put their pasts behind them and change the way society views them. Few clips capture the show's sentiment better than when Tia Torres took a pit bull named Snorkie onto The Ellen DeGeneres Show. If anyone out there still has reservations about pit bulls, this clip is sure to change their mind.

Ellen and Tia try to have a conversation about the TV show and the struggles she and her family have gone through to make it happen, but they keep getting distracted by Snorkie's adorable looks. Maybe it's the treats Ellen is holding, or maybe Snorkie knows that he's in front of the crowd and just felt like showing off, but there's no doubt that this 9-year-old pit bull was the real star that day.
