A Sea Turtle Surprises A Busy Diver In The Gulf Of Thailand
Apr 11, 2015
Hawksbill sea turtles are found throughout the tropical waters of all the oceans, except the Arctic. They are typically found in shallow waters where sponges, their main food source, are easily found. The species also prefers to stay close to the coast so that they can stay close to their nesting sites. This type of sea turtle is not nearly as large as some of its counterparts, only growing up to around 45 inches in shell length and around 150 pounds in weight.
It would be safe to say there are not an excessive amount of jobs in this world where people would encounter a sea turtle, especially in the wild. But, that is exactly what happened to this commercial diver off of the Gulf of Thailand. On his YouTube channel he claimed it was "just another day at the office." The diver also has his own blog under DarrenC on BlogDaz. Luckily, a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) was there to capture the encounter on video.
