The brave men and women who serve in the armed forces understand that their duty may require them to make the ultimate sacrifice. Many airlines now offer services to help transport the remains of these fallen heroes in a show of support and solidarity. It's our duty and frankly, the least we can do, to honor these brave men and women in the best way that we can. That's precisely why one Alaskan Airlines employee's touching gesture for a fallen soldier is going viral.
While flying from Anchorage to Seattle, Julia Jette and her husband recorded what happened shortly after Denise Snow, an Alaskan Airlines employee, announced that the flight would also be transporting the ashes of a 21-year-old veteran. She then asked passengers permission to pay him tribute, and proceeded to sing "The Star Spangled Banner" in his honor. Julia, who posted the video to Facebook, says that she was "fighting back the tears" in that moment. It's not hard to understand why.
