Whether it be a funny face or body language, children have a way of mimicking their parents. Particularly for toddlers just past a year in age, imitation is a huge part of the developmental process. Part of the desire to copy those around them comes from the connection it creates between parent and child. Children look up to their parents, so it's natural to want to be just like them. These actions also serve as the initial stepping stones of independence. It does this by seeding the idea of being able to accomplish what parents are able to do.
For country and bluegrass singer Joey Martin Feek, nothing puts a smile on her face like seeing her baby try to imitate her. On the morning before her first chemo session, baby Indie couldn't help but cheer her up.
