Batter Gets Hit By A Pitch And Stuns The Crowd By Catching It

May 20, 2015 By Christi Mulligan
The moment in baseball when a player is hit by a pitch is often a moment where emotions run high, but not when Arizona State's Johnny Sewald is up to bat. Sewald, a starting outfielder for the Sun Devils, was up to bat against Washington State's Layne Bruner at a recent game, and he took a shot to the ribs. Although this pitch loaded the bases for the Sun Devils in the bottom of the sixth, the Devils weren't able to claim the win until Andrew Snow delivered a walk-off hit. This play brought the Devils up 6-5 against the Cougars, in the bottom of the 11th.
