Cab Driving Hasn't Changed Much Since 1928

In a clip from the silent film "Speedy," starring comedian Harold Lloyd, Speedy cannot keep a job due to his love of the NY Yankees and yet, he is desperately in love with his girlfriend and needs a job to continue his relationship. During Speedy's jaunt as a cab driver, his second customer shown happens to be Babe Ruth (yes, that's him).

Besides seeing Lloyd and Ruth, the beauty of the clip is that it shows the hustle and bustle of New York was present even in 1928. It is clear that the traffic laws were strict, but police still enforced what they could. The cab ride in the city certainly provides a look at the landmarks of the times like old Yankee Stadium, the Brooklyn Bridge and more.
