After Being Called "The World's Ugliest Woman," She Responded In An Inspirational Way

17-year-old Lizzie Velásquez just wanted to find some music on YouTube when she got the shock of a lifetime. Cyberbullies had created a video of her called “The World’s Ugliest Woman” – and it already had 4 million views. Even worse were the comments, calling her names and even saying she would be better off dead. It was absolutely devastating, but there was a lot the Internet didn’t know about Lizzie.

Lizzie was born with a condition so rare, only two other people have been known to have it. Despite a diet that would make most of us pack on the pounds, Lizzie is physically unable to gain weight. She is also blind in one eye, however, her condition is not terminal. There’s no reason she can’t live a normal, happy life.

But Lizzie hasn’t just lived – she’s thrived. The now 25-year-old has written books, graduated college and become a motivational speaker. She’s also the subject of a 2015 documentary titled “A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story.” Hearing her speak is truly a treat. She’s one of the most beautiful people we’ve ever had the pleasure to feature – see for yourself.
