Students of the University of California, San Diego captured a gigantic school of anchovies on film recently, and the sight is one scientists haven't seen in decades.
The students, Bonnie Ludka, Julia Fiedler and Sean Crosby, swam with the massive group fish and used a GoPro camera to capture the incredible sight just off the coast of San Diego. The resulting footage is absolutely spectaular.
No explanation has yet been made for the anchovy sighting, which measured an incredible 15 to 100 meters wide, and scientists at the University's Scripps Institution of Oceanography stated that they haven't seen such a large school of anchovies in over 30 years.
