If animals have taught us one thing, it's that we should never let our differences get in the way of loving each other. Animals frequently care for those from different species when they're in need. Whether it's stepping in to save a life, uniting land and air or being a best friend for another lonely animal, they've got each other's backs.
As common as this might seem, it turns out an animal adopting another of a different species is quite rare. This was the case when an abandoned baby pit bull was found by the Animal Protective League. Employees said that without a mother to care for him, this puppy wouldn't have lasted long. Thankfully, a caring cat at the facility began nuzzling him immediately. While he'll definitely grow up to be larger than his mother, this pup will always be her "kitten."
