Roanoke, Virginia couple Brandon and Mary-Susan Williams had struggled to have a child of their own for over a decade. They tirelessly documented their efforts in a blog, from their fertility treatments to their miscarriages and even the tragedy of their stillborn baby girl.
Through their quest to start a family, they eventually met Autumn Anderson - the incredible stranger who volunteered her body to be a surrogate for the Williams so that they too could enjoy the pleasures of parenthood like her and her husband, Donovan, did.
Throughout the pregnancy, Autumn admits that she was slightly unsure of whether she'd actually be capable of handing over the baby when the moment came after spending nine months carrying him. When the big day finally arrived, the doctor handed the baby boy over to Autumn, who then handed him to Mary-Susan so that she and the baby could bond with each other through skin-to-skin contact.
