Michael Jr. is an acclaimed stand-up comedian. When he speaks, the general result is peals of laughter from his audience but he was surprised to discover that his voice is also quite powerful in another, very significant way.
When his daughter was born, he was naturally present for it and brought a camera with him so he could record her first moments in the world. As newborns tend to do, she started to fuss and scream and cry while he was filming her laying on her little hospital bed. At this point, Michael started to talk to her and gently reassure her that everything is ok. The effect is virtually instantaneous - the baby calms down and stops crying almost immediately. It's a truly heartwarming moment that shows the bond between this father and daughter.
While it may appear almost magical, there is a possible reason for why the baby reacted this way. Science has long established that babies can hear muffled sounds while still in the womb and recognize their mother's voice at a very early stage of development. Depending on how much time Michael spent talking to the baby through the mom's belly during her pregnancy, it's entirely possible that baby came to recognize his voice too.
