Discover These Magical Covered Streets Around The World

Jan 28, 2015

Tree and flower covered streets are often photographed for their beauty, and they're magical to travel under. But these organic pathways also provide advantages above being just a pretty sight. Tree lined streets can cool a city by up to ten degrees by shading homes and streets, breaking up urban "heat islands" and releasing water vapor into the air. A tree-lined street will also slow traffic – enough to allow the drivers to look at the storefronts instead of whizzing by and reduce traffic noise in the process. While many of us are hunkering down in anticipation of the height of winter weather, it's still nice to know that there are stunning tree and flower covered streets to visit once we dig out from Old Man Winter's icy grip.
