Winter weather is bad enough outside, but it's so much worse when that cold follows you back into the comfort of your own house. One of the most common points of entry for drafts is the space under your doors. The incoming draft isn't just cold either, it's also expensive - the cold air makes your home's heating system have to work harder, leading to increased energy costs.
Properly insulating the area under the door helps eliminate drafts, but the door guards seen on TV shopping networks are needlessly expensive. Instead of shelling out all that cash on a draft guard, why not save your money and make one of your own as shown in this video? All you need are some pool noodles, some fabric, glue and velcro strips (optional). Simply cut and measure the noodles to fit your door and then cut and glue the fabric around the noodles to create your own draft guard.
