DIY Gardeners Turn Broken Flower Pots Into Mini Condos

Jan 13, 2015

There's a community of DIY gardeners who've turned broken clay flower pots into genuine works of art that I desperately want. Like really, really want. Dubbed "fairy gardening", each individual flower pot is like a miniature home complete with all the decorations and accessories necessary for a lovely showing.

While some gardeners work with accidentally broken shards from a flower pot, most of the unique and detailed creations come from carefully planned out designs. The procedure for getting exact cuts include soaking a pot in water, and then using a craft drill or file to weaken the part you want to break off. Switch to a hammer when you're ready to fully break a piece off. Be sure to wear eye protection and a dust mask.

If you're not ready to start creating your own fairy gardens, then check out these beauties below and admire their creative work.
