I bet that pup's going to have all the treats he wants for the rest of his life. While this particular dog had no training, there are specialized service dogs that are taught to give alert in case of illness in their owner. Called a medical response dog, these canines are trained to recognize the signs of an oncoming fit of illness and react in specific, helpful ways. These special service pups are commonly used to help people with seizure disorders, diabetes, and some kinds of psychiatric conditions. When a response dog senses the impending onset of certain behaviors, he can help his owner by doing things such as finding help, activating an emergency response system, bringing a phone or medication, or just helping them through the episode.
