An abused cat named Bruce Almighty is inspiring people around the world to send in donations to cover the cost of his recovery and treatment.
When Bruce was found on March 18 by homeowners from Regina, in the Saskatchewan province of Canada, he had electrical tape wrapped tightly around his legs. This led to infection and severe tissue damage.
His rescuers noticed his "fierce determination to live" and named him Bruce Almighty. The Regina Humane Society set up a GoFundMe page for him, which has raised nearly $20,000 (and counting) in just 5 days.
The Humane Society also released an official statement about Bruce's condition, and asked for the public's help in bringing his abusers to justice.
Bruce's condition is still somewhat touch-and-go, but he's received surgeries to his front toes and is showing positive signs of recovery.
