Most of us have an old piece of furniture in our house that we don’t quite know what to do with. Unless you want to test your luck on Antiques Roadshow, you probably will have to find some way to keep it and get some use out of it. I have a coffee table that I have kept in my garage for years because it’s too old to use or give away, but I can’t quite bring myself to throw it in the trash.
However, if you have the ingenuity of P. Allen Smith, then those problems are no longer an issue. Smith owned an old nightstand that he didn’t quite know what to do with. Instead of just putting it in the trash or keeping it in the garage, he found the perfect way to transform it into something extremely useful.
The end result of Smith’s work is a homemade dog feeder that cleverly keeps your dog’s food from sitting in a bowl out in the open. This will conceal food and water inside a drawer that’s ready to open when your dog needs it. He details the process in the video if you want to try it for yourself. So maybe it’s finally time to take that old piece of furniture back out.
