I couldn't stop laughing when listening to this little girl. She sure injected some humor into a serious situation. All joking aside, it's important that children know all about calling 911 in an emergency. The first thing to teach children is what an emergency is and what it isn't. Children need to know that a fire or finding someone unconscious definitely deserves a 911 call, while a skinned elbow or stolen toy do not. It's also important to teach children that prank calls to 911 are never okay and can even be considered a crime in many places. To help your kids during that important phone call, make sure they know to speak slowly and clearly. Also, emphasize that he or she should never end the call until the dispatcher says it's okay.
