While a little more commonplace now, Big Bud was the first model of tractor to take the principles of heavy mining equipment and apply them to farmland. The model pictured, the “525/50,” has, as its name implies, 525 HP at its disposal. With the enormous power and tons of traction from its 12 wheels, Big Bud has no problem plowing 21 nice, deep furrows at once, even through tough clay.
It wasn’t so long ago in the gand scheme of things that we did this one furrow at a time, with an ox or two providing the power. It’s no wonder it’s just one of many impressive machines people gather round to watch in action.
