Fridge Upkeep You Should Do Every Month

Even the biggest clean freak might not know about these hidden dirty spots lurking in the kitchen. If you want to keep your house cleaner, here are some areas to start checking.

Under Your Fridge

Did you know your fridge has a condensation pan? Don't feel bad if you didn't, a lot of people have no idea this exists. The condensation pan is also known as a drip pan and it catches built up moisture from the fridge's coils. The moisture can promote bacteria growth so you should be cleaning the area out once a month.

The Lid Of Your Washing Machine

If your clothes come out of the wash smelling like mildew, check the rim of the machine. There is a rubber seal that can get moldy and spread the foul odor to your clothes.

Inside Your Kids' Toys

If you have kids, check their bath toys and sippy cups. They're often harboring sitting liquid which is a breeding ground for germs.

Under Your Bath Mats

Finally, check underneath your bath mats. It's easy to forget about them, but these mats can get really dirty with all the trapped moisture and darkness.

Check out the video below for the whole process on cleaning the drip pan.
