He Drags A Tire Into His Living Room And Attaches A Board. The End Product Is Surprisingly Stylish

If you love DIY projects, then you're going to adore this. Not only are you creating something fun and useful, you're preventing waste as well. Most people have a few old tires lying around their garage. They might look dirty and useless, but did you know that they can be used to create something really beautiful for your home?

Instead of making plans to throw them out, bring them inside the house. They have the perfect shape and sturdiness for what we're going to make today. When you're finished, nobody will believe that you made it from an old tire.

The best part is that this is extremely simple to make. Before getting started, make sure you clean the tire with a cloth. It might need a full scrubbing, depending on its condition.

Here's what you'll need:

  • An old tire
  • Two pieces of wood cut into circles
  • Lots of rope
  • A screwdriver
  • A gluegun
  • A cloth
  • A brush
  • A jar of sealant

Make sure that the two pieces of wood are just large enough to fit inside the diameter of the tire. Place them on each side and use a drill to make three to four holes.

Next, install your screws to hold the wood in place.

Now comes the fun part. Take your piece of rope and start by gluing one end to the center of the wood on one side.

Hold firmy and coil it around. Place glue on each coil so that it sticks in place.

When the entire piece of wood is covered, keep going and begin coiling around the tire.

Flip it over and continue coiling. Apply glue as you go along.

Once you get to the bottom, you're done. Cut the rope and glue down the loose end so there's nothing sticking out.

Rope has a rough texture, so it's time to apply our sealant. Using your paint brush, apply a coating of sealant, let it dry, then apply a second coating.

When it's done, this is what it looks like. A homemade ottoman that looks great in any house. It’s hard to believe that it started out as an old tire.
