Cold glass sculpting is an extremely rare type of sculpting process that most people have never heard of. It's an intensive process that involves repetitive cutting, grinding, and polishing. It certainly requires a perfectionist kind of mentality and a deep love and passion for the art. In fact, the process is so intense that there are only three known cold glass artists in the world. Most people are familiar with hot sculpting and glass blowing, which uses molten glass to form the final shapes. Cold glass sculpting, however, works with glass while it's in its cold or annealed state. No heat is involved. Through a series of rigorous processes that involve sandblasting, cutting, grinding, and engraving, the final unique piece is formed.
