Her Special Needs Son Was Acting "Rowdy." Then, The Waitress Handed Her A Note That Made Her Cry

It was a warm summer night when Ashley England went out to dinner with her family to one of their favorites, the Stag & Doe Restaurant in North Carolina. She wasn't prepared for a stranger to completely turn her night around.

Ashley's son, Riley, has special needs. He has a seizure disorder and sometimes has difficulty controlling himself when he's out with his family.

During this particular dinner, Riley was agitated, hitting the table and raising his voice. The family was accustomed to working with Riley and when they saw their waitress approach the table, they assumed she was about to complain about Riley bothering the other diners.

But when the waitress gave Ashley a note from a nearby table, she began to cry. The kind stranger paid for the family's meal and gave them a note of encouragement.

“I felt like out of all the rude negative comments that we are faced with – these outweighs them," Ashley said, "Little did he know what struggles we had been facing lately and this was surely needed at that moment.”

Riley's story went viral and he returned the favor by thanking this generous stranger on the local news.
