LEGO toys are a staple in many family households. Children and even adults grow to love them. Starting in 1932, a Danish man named Ole Kirk Christiansen began doing carpentry in a workshop that he purchased during the Great Depression. He would often trade food for some of the toys and simple furniture he made. It wasn't until 1949 that the company started making the interlocking blocks that we all know today. From simple beginnings, modern LEGO has evolved into complex theme sets, video games and even animated movies.
