High-Flying Squirrel Dives Head First Into Phillies' Dugout

Jun 22, 2015 By Houston Barber
The biggest star at a recent game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the St Louis Cardinals wasn't any of the players on the field, but a high-flying squirrel that captured the attention of the players and the entire stadium. The squirrel made his move in the bottom of the second inning after the visiting Cardinals took a 4-0 lead. If our hero was trying to motivate his hometown Phillies, then unfortunately his efforts were in vain as the Phillies ended up losing 12-4.

Surprisingly, this isn't the first time a squirrel has interrupted a game between the Phillies and Cardinals. In a 2011 playoff game in St Louis, a squirrel ran across home plate forcing the game to pause. The Cardinals ended up winning that game as well, which makes you think that maybe they should be bringing along squirrels to all of their games.
