Allan Law's whole life has been dedicated to serving his community in inner-city Minneapolis. He was a teacher at Hans Christian Andersen Middle School in one of the most crime-ridden neighborhoods of the city. During his 32 years of teaching, he founded the Minneapolis Recreation Development (MRD), a non-profit organization to help homeless, poor and vulnerable adults and children in the Twin Cities. Now retired from teaching, Allan is so committed to keeping MRD going that he uses 100% of the funds for operating expenses, going so far as to run the operation out of his small apartment. Allan delivers food and essentials at night when the shelters are closed and the homeless are most vulnerable.
