We hear a lot of stories about people helping the homeless. From makeovers to diamond rings, some people go out of their way to give whatever they can to help those less fortunate than they are. It's easy to forget that homeless people haven't always been living in the conditions they find themselves in today. Every single person has a rich backstory, a life full of experiences that have led them to the present moment. Just as we like giving to people in need, the homeless like giving things to others when they're capable of doing so.
Kelly Maguire learned this when she decided to donate her only pair of winter boots to a homeless woman in need of some warm clothing. Kelly lives in Chicago, where winters can reach brutally low temperatures, so being outside without boots is as unpleasant as it sounds. But, while on her way home from a football game with her husband, Kelly saw a woman in need and knew just what she had to do.
What Kelly did that day in the middle of a cold Chicago street is a heartwarming reminder of our duty to care for our fellow woman and man. Check out the clip below to hear the conclusion of Kelly's remarkable story and how her experience with "paying it forward" is far from done.
