Inventor Takes Kids' Ideas And Makes Them Into Reality

What could possibly characterize youth and childhood more than the abundance of imagination? Whether it be through drawing, building or playing make-believe, imagination has of way of creeping up into all aspects of life as a kid. This level of creativity is something that many of us lose as we grow older. What was once a fundamental part of our everyday lives has since vanished into the deepest recesses of our minds. With that, we not only lose our sense of fun, but we also lose our creativity.

A British inventor and artist named Dominic Wilcox recently set out to bring the creative ideas of children to life. To gather ideas, he held a contest in Sunderland and South Tyneside where kids could submit their best designs. Out of the 600 submissions, 60 would be chosen to be made as part of the Inventors! project. Even some adults were seen submitting ideas. Wilcox hopes that these creations would help "inspire and encourage children to believe in the power of their imagination."
