A Little Boy Astonishes The Judges With His Flawless Lady Gaga Cover
Between YouTube and the slew of televised talent shows these days ("America's Got Talent," "X Factor" and "The Voice" just to name a few), good singers seem like they're a dime a dozen nowadays. In order to stand out from the playing field, you've got to really bring something extra to the table - show the judges that you're not just good, you're great. As for the judges, they've sat through so many auditions by this point that it takes quite a lot to get them really truly excited.
While that seems like a tall order for most, 12-year-old Soufjan had no trouble at all getting the judges excited - and literally jumping and screaming out of their chairs - when he went on to the German edition of "The Voice: Kids" and floored everyone with his rendition of Lady Gaga's "Applause." He's still young enough to have a vocal register high enough to sing it and also to leave some doubt with the judges (who listen without seeing him initially) as to whether that voice belongs to a girl or boy. Considering how impressed I was with his performance knowing who he was the whole time, I can only imagine how the judges must have felt after having that surprise revealed.
