Kangaroos aren’t pets. In fact, they’re pretty tough hombres in the wild. But sometimes they need the care of humans for their own protection. Indi, an orphan, is one such marsupial. This short clip shows the young Indi craving more than a little affection from Chris 'Brolga' Barnes, a wildlife guide-turned-animal rescuer, and star of the BBC nature series Kangaroo Dundee. His primary goal is to see all the baby kangaroos, or joeys as they’re known, returned to the wild when they’re ready. In the meantime, he’s got his hands full with up to 30 kangaroos under his care at any given time. He’s already successfully rescued and rehabilitated over 200 ‘roos so far. He even makes his own canvas “pouches” for the particularly young ones.
