Chopping wood is one of the oldest chores in the book if you're living out in the countryside. It's definitely a workout, but one of the things that gets most tiresome is having to constantly pick the log back up after each split. It's a repetitive waste of time that's no fun for your back either, so it's no wonder that there are several alternative methods for splitting wood while avoiding this strain. The simplest (and possibly most popular judging by the sheer amount of YouTube hits) method to do this is by using a rubber tire to keep the log secured in place. This video was uploaded by a woman named Sara Pearson, showing her father Brad demonstrating this unique method. As with much of the Internet, it's hard to say precisely why this particular video of this technique received so much attention as opposed to any other, but the video was so popular that Sara followed up with a reaction video of her father seeing all the views and comments - which also went viral! I'm starting to think maybe it's not so much the wood cutting as it is the wood cutter that makes this truly special (Brad does seem like a really, really nice guy).
