There are some people who are perfectly organized and tidy in every aspect of their lives. Their cars are spotless and their closets are color-coded ... even their garages look like they've never seen a DIY project. Unfortunately for the rest of us, organizing everything (and more importantly keeping it that way) doesn't come naturally.
So, say you've found the perfect tips and tricks and put them into practice; how do you make it stick? To change any habit, follow the 3 Rs: reminder, routine and reward. Set an alarm to trigger the behavior, make yourself do it and set prizes when you actually follow through. Also, cut yourself some slack. Research says it takes anywhere from 21 to 66 days to form a new habit or break an old one.
