When I was a kid, one of my biggest fears was being left behind at the mall by my parents. This little sea otter experienced the animal world's version of that same nightmare scenario.
The otter pup featured in this video became separated from his family in May. While searching for them, he accidentally fell into a drainage pipe where he faced almost certain death. At six weeks old, he was completely helpless by himself. Luckily for this little guy, a local retiree named Patrick happened to be walking nearby and discovered him before it was too late. Realizing that he was all alone, Patrick took him to the Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS). The veterinary staff at WRS nursed him back to health and quickly became attached to the cute little pup. They affectionately named him ZooToby and made it their priority to reunite him with his family.
In this video, it takes an entire crew to put a plan in place to find ZooToby's family and successfully reintroduce them to each other. The WRS staff goes to great lengths to ensure they don't frighten away the family, all the while keeping a careful watch to make sure ZooToby is safe. This video shows what happens when compassionate people come together to take care of those in need, no matter what species they belong to.
