Chainsaw carving has got to be one of the scarier art forms to get started in. The powerful cutting machines have plenty of safety features these days, but they can still behave unpredictably, seizing and bucking on a knot, for instance. Jordan Anderson is clearly no stranger to the art of gas-powered sculpting, and wields several sizes of chainsaw in this video with equal confidence and skill.
Even more impressive is the size of the undertaking. The log Anderson starts with is substantially bigger than your average backyard tree stump. It requires a crane to get into position for him to work, but the end result is pretty incredible and totally worth the effort.
