Adrian Alonzo was a 17-year-old quarterback at Texas's McCamey High School. He was popular, charming and definitely had his pick of possible prom dates. He surprised the school when he staged an elaborate "prom-posal" with balloons to Cesyli Prieto, a fellow McCamey student.
They don't have classes together, though, as Prieto has Down's syndrome and attends McCamey's special needs education program.
Alonzo picked up his prom date in a handsome black tux. She looked great in her sparkly black dress and corsage.
They posed for prom pictures together. As they were leaving, Maribel Reyna, Prieto's mother, got a very special surprise about her daughter.
Cesyli Prieto was going to be announced McCamey High School Prom Queen.
Where some people would have seen someone with a disability, these inspiring high schoolers saw their very own queen, dancing the night away with the school quarterback.
