When you're a musician, there are certain venues that just have a monumental sense of history attached to them. Among these legendary venues is the one-and-only Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. This massive concert hall is a dream for musicians of all genres to be invited to play at, but it holds almost sacred reverence in the country music circles. If you're a country singer and you get asked to sing at the Grand Ole Opry, you've officially made it.
Actor/singer Jonathan Jackson is well-known for his Emmy-winning role on General Hospital, and now plays a country singer on Nashville. In September of 2015, he got an opportunity to sing at the Grand Ole Opry - and boy, did he make the most of it! Jackson performed an absolutely stunning rendition of "Unchained Melody," with many viewers saying it was easily the best rendition of the song they'd ever heard and others saying his voice reminded them of Elvis Presley himself.
With a performance like that, it's hardly surprising that Jackson completely won the crowd over. More importantly (to me, as a fellow singer), he really did justice to a truly classic song.
