Vyacheslav Mishchenko is a photographer who specializes in macro-photography, that is, extreme close-ups using very carefully designed lenses. But perhaps the most important feature of macro-photography is the ability of the photographer to take notice of the small things in life and bring them into focus, displaying their tiny features proudly and beautifully in the photographs.
Here, he goes into the colorful, surprisingly graceful, downright adorable tiny world of snails. “I photograph all insects, but snails have touched my heart particularly," Mishchenko explains. "I think that snails are simply extraordinary not only in their shape and form, but also in their beauty and behavior. They are magic creatures for me. I think they catch the attention of many people, not just mine."
