Soldier Is Reunited With The Dying Dog He Was Forced To Leave Behind

Army Specialist Henry Alvarado was assigned to duty in Alaska, but as he was preparing to move from his home in Los Angeles, California, his beloved dog Dukey was hit by a car and broke his leg. Henry couldn't afford the surgery or Dukey's airfare to bring him to Alaska, so he had to make the terrible decision to leave him behind.

That's when The Animal Protectorates heard about Henry's story and got in touch with Rescue From the Hart to work together to help Henry and Dukey out. They raised enough money for Dukey's surgery and even had enough left over to fly him to Alaska! Six weeks after his surgery, Dukey got on a plane and reunited with his beloved owner.
