You hear a lot about “everyday heroes,” but what is that, exactly? In a lot of ways, it’s someone who simply goes above and beyond in their chosen line of work, and do their part to make life better for others any way they can. Chris Ulmer, a teacher in Florida, begins every single day by giving his students compliments. Around 10 minutes each morning is dedicated to this process, meant to help his kids gain the confidence they need for success. Ulmer’s students have conditions ranging from autism to traumatic brain injuries, and often face more challenges than other children. Small actions like these can make big differences in the lives of students.
