If you have a rat problem in your house, you may want to consider yourself lucky. In Australia, you may not have that issue... because giant spiders literally carry mice in their jaws up vertical surfaces in order to eat them for breakfast.
Jason Womal, a resident of Coppabella, Queensland, posted the video below with the following message to Facebook: "So I am just about to leave for work about 00:30 and [my] neighbor says ‘You want to see something cool’ and I say ‘[Heck] yeah.’ So we proceed to his place and he shows me this. Huntsman trying to eat a mouse. We have named him Hermie, we have adopted him and he is now running his own extermination business out of our town Coppabella. Oh and he is now paying rent."
Huntsmen spiders are a large family of spiders with over a thousand different subspecies. They are found in various temperate/tropical regions around the globe, but many of the varieties are found in Australia. Their ability to prey on vertebrates larger than themselves, such as lizards, small rodents, and birds. Still, seeing one crawling up the wall with one is a whole other affair.
