Known for its impressive shimmer, shine and its expensive value, crystal glass can be incredible to see in person. Used for small ornaments, glassware and jewelry, crystal glass has been used for centuries dating back to 1400 BCE. Though it's commonly called crystal, the correct technical term is lead glass. The reasoning behind this is that up to 40 percent of the actual weight comes from lead oxide used in the manufacturing process. Just looking at the finished product, you would have never guessed a heavy metal was used during its making.
Crystal glass also have an additional property of being able to produce loud sounds through the way it resonates with vibrations. As you can see, these sounds can be controlled and manipulated to put on elaborate performances.
