Tattoo Artist Keeps Working Thanks To Custom Prosthetic Arm

We share a lot of stories about people who have suffered great misfortunes and bounced back with amazing resilience. These stories serve as inspiration by showing the indomitable human spirit within all of us. They tell us that we don’t have to be defined by our hardships or limited by our disabilities.

JC Sheitan Tenet lost his right arm 22 years ago. As a tattoo artist, he was forced to use his non-dominant left hand throughout his career, which posed a significant obstacle in a craft based around hand dexterity. JC had no reason to believe he’d ever draw with his long-lost right arm. That is, until he met French artist and engineer JL Gonzal, who had an idea that would change his life and make them celebrities in the world of body art.

They took an existing arm prosthesis and modified it using parts from a sewing machine and a record player to create the first ever prosthetic arm that doubles as a tattoo machine. Upon completion, they began showcasing this remarkable invention at tattoo conventions, such as the Tattoo Motor Show 8 in Devézieux, France. JC's special arm has become the talk of the tattoo industry, and, after you see these pictures, you'll know why.

Getting a tattoo is always special, but getting a tattoo from JC is a totally unique experience because of his one-of-a-kind prosthetic arm.

JC has turned a disability into a chance to make history within the tattoo industry.

The arm is designed to be light-weight and easy to maneuver. JC controls it with his shoulder and can rotate it 360-degrees.

Not only does his new arm allow him to practice his art, it looks pretty cool as well!
